Rural Autumn

A wonderful afternoon autumn in a rural pasture.

Bloom of the Week Wednesday: June 6, 2012

Found these gems in the Austin area. They seem to be very similar to the Indian Blanket wildflower but a different center. Anyone know what they are?

A challenge on the word reflection

A fellow blogger suggested a challenge on the word reflection.
So here are a few of my photos on reflections.

Spring pasture and barn – picture from yesterday

Fort Worth Stockshow

Our family recently spent a great Saturday at the Fort Worth stockshow. I wanted to share some of my photos from the weekend. Most were those types of capturing the moment photos instead of the more “artistic” photos.

I took this picture years ago. Looking back at it now I love it even more. So here are two versions of it.

A barn and a sunset – pictures from yesterday

My brain is so very tired from the paying job that I have that it was hard for me to decide what to share with you today. So I found two photos that I like. Simple.

Enjoy!

Is it Spring yet??? – picture(s) from yesterday

Hiding

I’m not fond of cold weather. My favorite wildflower of the spring is the Indian Blanket. (and yes, there is a technical name for it but I can’t remember it).

As I prepare to head to a colder city I remind myself of this glorious find in the Spring of 2010…. sighhhh…sun on my skin….warm soft breeze blowing….

Enjoy!

A nut no matter how you say it…- picture from yesterday

acorns 1

Depending on where you’re from or where you live you may say this differently. But whether it be a-corn or a-kern, these little nuts have always amused me. This year we, and the squirrels, have been woefully disappointed in the acorn size. So I found a few scattered across our deck just to show you how little they are this year. I’m feeling quite sorry for the little squirrels…

Call the entomologist!!!! – picture from yesterday

I was innocently taking pictures of some Indian paintbrushes one spring day. Having found some ladybugs crawling along a stem I, of course, bent down to take closer pictures. When I downloaded the pics for a closer look I discovered the picture below. As my amazing husband noted, only I could take X-rated nature photos!!!

Enjoy!!

An evening on the deck – picture from yesterday

Though I’m a few hours early – this reminds me of my mood tonight – a night listening to the critters, enjoying the company, and relaxing, thanking God for the blessings in my life.
