Good Match

The Daily Post Photo Challenge: A Good Match was fun for me this week. I took the time to go thru some photos that I had taken several years ago and see what matches I could discover.

A good match is a window and a door. And that old saying “When God closes a door He usually opens a window”.

Hope you enjoy!

Repurposing items is one of my favorite things to do in decorating our house. We are antique (sometimes junk) store, well, junkies. I always look for the oddball stuff.  So when we redid our guest bathroom we used different materials and decor to make it a bit more country. One of my favorite parts was using old sheet metal from a barn that had fallen down. Then a claw foot tub we rescued from a junk seller. We also had a cow hide that had been a little chewed on by our now-grown puppy. So here is a photo of the finished product. Hope you enjoy!

Graceful in Nature

In taking a look at my work you will notice quite a bit of nature photos. I truly believe that there is so much beauty in nature that in any moment you will see something new and beautiful – and sometimes quirky! So for the Daily Post Photo Challenge: Graceful I am sharing a few things in nature that feel graceful to me. Enjoy!

Ambience in Nature

I truly love nature. So when I saw the Daily Post Photo Challenge of Ambience I knew I wanted to go with the nature application of the theme. Enjoy!

Hot Springs, AR – the hot springs bring a special feel to the town. You can walk around and find the hot water steaming in many different places. With the sun it makes the steam a beauty.

Beavers Bend State Park in Broken Bow, OK – with the stillness of the river which runs through the park the rocks with their varied colors made a perfect reflection.

Multnomah Falls, OR – The green beauty of the area around the falls paired with the spectacular waterfall makes it a quiet step into nature. There are so many areas around the Falls to explore and immerse yourself into nature.

Beavers Bend State Park in Broken Bow, OK – Even in the fall the river and all of the natural landscape make this park a relaxing experience. My husband (you can see him in the middle of the photo) enjoys fishing and I immerse myself in all that nature has to show me. It’s a wonderful way to take some zen time…
