Rum & Coconut How-To

We just came back from a fabulous vacation in the Turks & Caicos islands. We rented a cottage and three of our good friends, more like family, came along with us. We had a blast! So I wanted to share with you the how-to that my husband made with our good friend/brother-at-heart, Terry. Hope you laugh as much as I did!

Cee’s Share Your World: Week 38

As always, I just love Cee’s challenges! These are my answers this week!

What were you most likely doing on this day when you were 12 years old?  Humpphh… this one makes me feel old b/c I can’t remember….but I likely was out riding my bike, playing with our dog or cats, or pestering my sister. And I’m not even going to share a photo of me at 12!!

If you could…photograph any scenery that you have seen before, what scene would you use?  I’m a Libra, too, so I can’t choose just one place. So I am torn between Venice and anywhere in the Caribbean. One of my favorite photos from Venice:

What is your favorite type of dog? One that loves and plays! Here are some photos of our two dogs: mommas helpermy Lily

Cee’s Share Your World: Week 37

Getting back into the groove on blogging again, I go back to one of my fav bloggers and this is one of her challenges: Share Your World Week 37!

Here are the questions and my answers:

What is your favorite outdoor activity? In the summer definitely hanging out in our swimming pool with my husband, a good book, our kiddos, and/or a good, cold beer and a cigar. Any combination works and if I can have them all at the same time I’m a happy lady! So here’s a peek at our “redneck” swimming pool:

Do you prefer your food separated or mixed together? I’m totally a separated person except when it comes to mashed potatoes and boudain.

But I don’t have many photos of my meals so I’ll show you one of my favorite meals – my husband’s fantabulous ribs!

If you could live anywhere in the world where would you live?

I have to say the Caribbean. Beautiful water, lovely beaches, windsurfing, great food… I could go on.

And, last question, what household chore do you hate doing? Well, I’ll admit it- all of them!!!

Island: A Word A Week Challenge

Oh, how I love the islands! Nothing beats a sandy beach, the sound of the waves, some great snorkeling and a tasty pina colada or rum punch in my hand – and gotta add sharing it all with Hubby! Here are a few photos to share with you as part of the Word A Week Challenge hosted by A Word In Your Ear!

These are from St Lucia, St Martin, and St Kitts. Enjoy!

Where’s My Backpack Travel Challenge: Liquid

Being as I love the water – beach, lake, stream, waterfall – this week’s challenge from Where’s My Backpack, which was liquid, was fun to choose. I also wanted some photos that I hadn’t shared with you yet. So looking a bit into my stash I found these three.

This first one is from our honeymoon in Alaska. I love the tones in the photo. And, of course, the scenery was magnificent!

This second one is from our early anniversary cruise to the Caribbean. It is in St. Kitts and is where the Caribbean meets the Atlantic!

And the last of the three is from a trip to Hot Springs, AR. It is a town that has captured my husband and I for some reason unknown to us. I think it has something to do with the history and the feel of the area around the springs – specifically Bathhouse Row. It seems as if you are just on the edge of being back in the 1920’s with all the people who came from around the world to the bathhouses back in their heyday.

Just for fun and a bit of a play on the word liquid, here is a photo of a beer sampler we had while in Seattle at the Pike Brewery!
